Inside out design

Inside out design

Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas showing waterfall

The philosophy underyling the design of the Wynn is ‘inside out’ – that is, rather than a big flashy tourist display to attract you inside, the Wynn is deliberately understated (well, as much as a gigantic 50 storey glass building on Las Strip can be understated!), leading people to be drawn inside through curiousity more than awe.
And it works, too. No Egyptian Sphynx, Eiffel Tower or New York skyline is needed to draw your attention to the building. Its size, style, and the glorious greenery and lakes that surround it are enough to draw you in all by themselves. Of course, the waterfall, enormous moving sign and huge booming soundtrack that booms out as you soak in its splendour don’t hurt, either!
When you do go in, you’re greeted by a strange site for Vegas – greenery! Trees, bushes and flowers immediately greet you, while outside lies gloriously landscaped grounds, complete with stunning waterfall, lakes and even a golf course. The bars are a great place to relax in, too, with greenery all around, uber-comfy seats, and bar staff that are as gorgeous as the building itself!
